Please note that the Visual Anthropology Review (VAR) will only be publishing three more issues (Fall 2026, Spring 2027 and Fall 2027) before sunsetting at the end of 2027. We will therefore not be receiving new submissions after October 15, 2026. Manuscripts received by that date will undergo our standard peer review process

Moving forward, the Society for Visual Anthropology will participate in Anthropological Praxis, a new collaborative journal with several other AAA sections, set to open for submissions in fall 2027.
